Wealth is a central issue in economic studies, at the individual, family, and national levels. Conflicts over wealth often trigger disputes, ranging from inheritance disputes to the exploitation of natural resources between nations. In the history of economic thought, capitalism and socialism emerged as two opposing schools of thought regarding wealth. Capitalism emphasizes individual ownership of the fruits of hard work, while socialism views wealth as a shared common good managed by the state for equitable distribution. Despite their differences, both share a commonality: they both make wealth their primary goal, leading them to fall into the trap of materialism and secularism. This view differs from the Islamic perspective, which bases its understanding of wealth on the Quran and Sunnah, emphasizing a balance between material and spiritual aspects. This research focuses on Surah al-Kahf, verse 46, which comprehensively explains the status of wealth and its management. Through interpretive analysis, this verse is understood to not only position wealth as a means of worldly life but also reminds humans of the more enduring values of the hereafter. Thus, this study is expected to provide a more balanced understanding of the nature of wealth and contribute to the development of contemporary Islamic economic concepts.
