Dinamika Pasar Pangan Halal Global: Analisis Tren Pertumbuhan dan Peluang Bagi Indonesia
Abstract
The global halal food market has rapidly evolved from mere religious observance to a major economic sector driven by the growth of the Muslim population and increasing awareness of the halal lifestyle. This study aims to analyze the dynamics, growth trends, and challenges of the global halal food market and formulate strategic investment opportunities for Indonesia to become a leader in the global halal value chain. The method used is a qualitative-descriptive analysis by reviewing secondary data from global halal economy reports, trade data, and policy studies. The results of the analysis indicate that the halal food market is projected to grow significantly, driven by trends such as increasing demand for traceable halal products, functional foods, and plant-based alternatives. Although Indonesia is the largest consumer of halal food, its position as a global producer and exporter is still not optimal. The main weaknesses lie in the capacity of the upstream supply chain, international certification standardization, and halal logistics infrastructure. Therefore, this study recommends three main investment opportunities for Indonesia: (1) Upstream Supply Chain Integration (e.g., critical raw materials and Certified Slaughterhouses); (2) Acceleration of Digital Technology for halal traceability; and (3) Strengthening Halal Hubs and Integrated Halal Industrial Areas to streamline exports. Implementation of this strategic investment It is hoped that this will strengthen Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance (JPH) ecosystem, increase global competitiveness, and make this country a world-leading halal product production center.
