Drug abuse is a major problem that has spread to almost all regions of Indonesia, including areas with high levels of vulnerability such as Proppo District, Pamekasan Regency. This study aims to explore the role of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in tackling drug trafficking in Proppo District, Pamekasan Regency. Using a qualitative approach, this study used interviews and observations in several Islamic boarding schools located in the area. The results show that Islamic boarding schools in Proppo District play an active role in preventing and eradicating drugs through religious education programs, moral development, and collaboration with law enforcement officers and other social institutions. Islamic boarding schools also serve as information centers for the surrounding community about the dangers of drugs, while providing a space for the younger generation to develop themselves through positive activities that prevent them from the clutches of drugs. Through this holistic approach, Islamic boarding schools are not only educational institutions, but also agents of change in creating a drug-free environment. Thus, Islamic boarding schools play a vital role in supporting government and community efforts to create a generation free from drug abuse.
